At West Midlands Golf Club, we have a small but friendly ladies’ section in the club. The group get together every Wednesday morning for a round of golf and a coffee afterwards.

We play for medals and have fun competitions, as well as stableford, which is a form of stroke-play whereby points are awarded according to the number of strokes taken, taking into account your handicap at each hole. We compete in friendly matches against other clubs in Warwickshire, and we also have a mixed gender competition with a men’s team. We also raise money for charities, such as most recently for breast cancer care.

The summer can be an eventful time, making the best of the good weather with participation in team opens throughout the summer months. During nice weather, we enjoy completing a full 18-hole golf course.

Should bad weather prevent us from playing, we usually still meet up to talk over hot beverages and do alternative activities together such as tai chi. It’s a great group to be social with whilst sharing a common interest in golf.

If you’re interested in joining the women’s golf section, please email the club Manager Mark, on mark@wmgc.co.uk and he will pass your details on to the ladies section and we will respond and answer any questions you may have for us.
